Art in Action: Color the School
Participants in the “Art in action: color the School” project (students aged
16 and over) created a vibrant mural inspired by Keith Haring, turning plain
school walls into a dynamic explosion of color and movement. Over the
course of 30 hours devoted to artistic expression, the space was
transformed into a lively and engaging work of art in a month.
Mural Making in the Style Of Keith Haring
My 5th graders discussed what topics they considered important enough to provide a lasting legacy at their elementary school before heading off to middle school.
Several ideas were brainstormed and voted on. They decided that they wanted to showcase "sports and fitness" while showing haring style figures in motion.
Haring Inspired Mural
"Action Painting" day camp participants (kids between 11-14 yrs) painted a Haring inspired mural on the wall of the village's railway station underpass, transforming an ugly gray concrete wall into a colourful piece of energetic art. The 3-day day camp ran for 5 hours per day, with 4 dedicated to art.
Street Art and Hopscotch
The project was split into several lessons. At the beginning the pupils got some information about Keith Haring We created some colorful Keith Haring paintings on the break court in front of our school. There are now two big paintings, where the children can do hop-games. The other paintings show typical school subjects like art.
